Judge Bill Gravell Jr. was appointed to Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, on March 1, 2013. Judge Bill Gravell is a lifelong Republican and Williamson County native, growing up in Round Rock. He and his wife Jill have two adult children and three grandchildren. He and his family live in the Jarrell Community where they are active members of River Rock Bible Church in Georgetown.
Judge Bill Gravell was elected March 4th, 2014 as Justice of the Peace for Williamson County Pct. #3. Bill was sworn into his first full term on January 1st, 2015.
Judge Gravell currently serves as Chaplain of the Central Texas Justice of the Peace and Constables Association. As well, he serves as Chairman of the Legislative Committee, for Judges in the Justice of The Peace and Constables Association of Texas. Judge Gravell serves on the Board of Directors for The Williamson Musuem. His court received a state award from the governmental collection association of Texas for, “Collections Program of the Year” in 2013. In 2014 His court received the Tyler award, “Public Sector Excellence Award’ for courts in America. At the 2015 National Court Technology Conference Judge Gravell received the national award for “CITOC Innovation Award” for contributions to the judiciary in technology and court business processes. On September the 3rd, 2015 Judge Gravell was appointed to the Texas Judicial Council by Chief Justice Hecht of the Texas Supreme Court.
Bill Gravell has an expansive sphere of experience that qualifies him to serve in his position. For the last 30 years of his professional life Judge Gravell has been involved in ministry. He spent twenty-two years as a youth Pastor with the last eight years as Pastor of Sonterra Fellowship in Jarrell. Through pastoring, Judge Bill Gravell has spent countless hours listening to the needs of the people and offering advice that is well reasoned and balance.
Judge Bill Gravell recalls the vitally important role our community played in shaping who he is today. He wants to help provide that same strong guidance he received as a teen back to our community. As Justice of the Peace he has created a mentoring program for kids who are on the wrong side of the law.
Judge Bill Gravell believes it is of utmost importance he give his time to help make our community prosperous, safe and a great place to live. During his time in Jarrell, he served on the School Bond Advisory Committee, Jarrell Road and Bridge Committee, was appointed to ESD #5 by the Commissioners Court, was President of the Sonterra Home Owners Association, and has been a mentor for students in elementary school.
